WebToBook ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — used to identify your account and send transactional emails (verification, delivery failures).
• Kindle email address — used solely to deliver articles to your Kindle device. We do not use it for any other purpose.
• Article URLs — the URLs you choose to send are stored temporarily to process and deliver the article. We do not read or store the article content beyond the delivery process.
• Usage counts — we store a monthly article count to enforce free tier limits.
• Subscription data — if you upgrade, we store a subscription ID provided by our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy) to manage your plan.

2. What we do not collect

• We do not collect your name, address, or payment card details — payments are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy.
• We do not track your browsing activity.
• We do not use cookies or analytics scripts on this website.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How we use your data

• To deliver articles to your Kindle device via Amazon SES.
• To send transactional emails (account verification, delivery notifications) via Resend.
• To manage your subscription and enforce usage limits.
• To monitor service health and diagnose errors (via Sentry — errors are anonymised and do not include article content).

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate WebToBook:

• Amazon SES — sends articles to your Kindle email. Subject to Amazon's privacy policy.
• Resend — sends transactional emails. Subject to Resend's privacy policy.
• Lemon Squeezy — processes payments. We never see your card details. Subject to Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.
• Sentry — error monitoring. Error reports do not include personal data or article content.

5. Data retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Article delivery records are retained for 90 days then deleted. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Cancel your subscription at any time from the extension or via the manage page.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords and tokens are stored as bcrypt hashes — we never store raw credentials. We apply rate limiting and replay protection on all API endpoints.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
